Our mission and positions...
The original idea behind the SEMC came about from the founder’s own dilemma: how do you take a niche and technical subject, one with roots dipping into every piece of culture in the world, and package it in a digestible way for the masses? In fact, beyond merely making the subject understandable to newcomers, how might you make it appealing?
It is this very question that the SEMC, and as a function its website, seek to answer: we hope to host both the resources needed for those interested in creating electronic music, and the events for all those interested in experiencing the genre. For those interested in producing electronic music, we have various online resources for both learning reference and free software; we also host workshops and conferences to provide a space to learn from peers.
We recognize the vital contributions from around the world that influenced electronic music to be what it is today, and as such, we hope to provide a space where all identities and cultures can exist in harmony, united under a love of music.
Here are some roles we need to fill out:
Help plan and run events.
Help master and test sound systems, set up recording systems.
Help set up equipment and teach others how to operate it.
